With all the snow we have had now, especially here in Colorado, and across the east coast, and even perhaps where you live, it was brought to my attention today that Spring is here, or at least poking its head around the corner. The eastern states of America have had more snow than they have seen in years. So today warm sunshine is melting the snow, (here in Colorado), and soon the heads of Daffodils will be popping up and we will see their bright yellow and gold faces, telling us that 'Spring' is right around the corner. Some of us breathe a huge sigh of relief because the sight of these beautiful faces looking up to the skies means spring is truly here, at last!! The Daffodil ( or Narcissus) has other perceptions that differ from the west to the east. In the west, the Narcissus flower is seen as a symbol of vanity, in China, the same flower is seen as a symbol of wealth and good fortune. The ancient Greeks believed this plant originated from the vain youth, Narcissus, He died after becoming so obsessed with his reflection in a pool he could not leave. The Greeks say that the gods turned his remains into the Narcissus flower.

It saddens my heart to have to tell you that my partner, mentor, and my best friend, Richard Nauman, passed away on July 7th 2009. I am devastated, heart broken, and lost. He has left a void in my life, but I feel that if I didn't continue with our plans for our sites and the new sites we had started to create then that would be dishonorable to his memory. He took the place of my own Dad who died in December 2005, Rick saw that I was "giving up" and pushed me harder to expand my horizons, even giving me a new life motto to live by,
" Tell me I can't, and I will show you I can".
He loved Storms, he loved the way Mother Nature performed her duties on a day to day basis, so we created this site for the people to share and communicate and to explore what the weather was doing all over the world. Its still a young site, but I will continue to do what we planned on doing in honor of Rick's memory. I will keep going, if not for myself but for the members of the sites we have created and that I will soon create.
